Coal Miners

Year 3 have been learning what it was like to work in a coal mine. Mrs Kearney brought in some original miner’s lamps and ornaments made from coal that belonged to her grandad who was a miner in Birtley. The children enjoyed looking at the detail of the ornaments and linking them to their learning.

Skipping Event

29th Sept 2021 – Outdoor Activities

Mrs Kearney and Mr Beavers have just sent a message to say Y3 are having a great day. Everyone is just thrilled to be outside learning. Lunch has just finished and everyone is now busy with more activities.

10th Dec 2021 – Egyptian Day

10th Dec 2021 What a busy day we’ve had at Newsham…Y3’s Egyptian Day has been great, the costumes were amazing, the food tasting went down a treat and they even managed to walk like an Egyptian during our Santa Dash!! Well done Y3.  

2nd Dec 2021 – Forest Fun

Our fire pit is on and already warming our Y3 pupils. Mrs Kearney is our forest school leader and is being helped today by Miss Cartmell, both of whom are wrapped up for the weather! The children are loving being around the fire enjoying their biscuits and marshmallows.

WOW! The Year 3 inbox has been full this week!

The year3@newshamprimary.co.uk inbox was near to bursting this week! WELL DONE EVERYONE! It is absolutely lovely to see the children happy with their learning at home. We continue to miss them very much but every photograph brings a smile to our faces!
