This term when the children haven’t been swimming, they have been developing their skills at Tag Rugby. The children have learned to pass and catch a rugby ball confidently as well as how to move effectively on the field of play.  

As part of our topic on Natural Disasters, in Design Technology we have been exploring ideas of how to construct a working volcano model. We designed our volcanoes considering the properties of the materials available. This week we have been making the base onto which we will form our volcanoes.  

Congratulations to Holly in Submarines and Caitlyn in Galleons for earning the homework trophy for the first half term. The children competed in an athletics competition at Bede Academy on Wednesday. Children took part in a variety of track and field events. All the children had a wonderful time representing our school.

This half term children in Y5 have been learning how to code using a Raspberry Pi. The children have learned all about these tiny computers and are busy exploring writing code. Using a program called Sonic Pi, they are creating  a sound track to accompany an animation of a natural disaster.
