As part of or topic ‘Can we explore it?’, we read the story ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ by Michael Rosen.
To really bring the story to life we went on our own bear hunt through the woodland walk at the bottom of our school field.
We brought our wellies, warm coats, hats and gloves into Nursery and thought about what else we might need to take with us. We even took an apple for the bear in case he was hungry!
Just like in the story, it was a beautiful day and the sun was shining.
We had to go through ‘swishy, swashy grass’, ‘thick, oozy mud’ and a ‘big, dark forest’.
At the end of our bear hunt we found a bear and rescued him from the tree. He really enjoyed his apple!
