We are delighted with how well our reception and nursery children have settled into school, following our shortest staggered start ever. Already the children are following routines, engaging with challenges and seeking out learning through their own play. The atmosphere in the Unit is calm and purposeful enabling new friendships to develop too.
The camaraderie between parents, staff and children as they come into school contributes to the community feeling that is Newsham and is a great way to start the day. Inviting parents to join Seahorses and Starfish for lunch was very exciting for the children because they were able to share a new experience and demonstrate their growing independence. Many parents said they were pleased with the range of foods that the children ate.
Staff are looking forward to the learning journey to come with all of the children and are confident of great success this year.
