St. Mary’s Lighthouse Visit

Yesterday we visited St. Mary’s lighthouse. We had a fantastic time exploring the rock pools and we couldn’t believe the wide variety of creatures we found living there. We could spot lots of the human and physical features that we have been learning about in school. We didn’t expect to see seals living on our coast, so that was very special.

RockPool Trip

Up on the cliff, we used our knowledge of line and shape to sketch the lighthouse and surrounding bay. The adults were very impressed with the wonderful drawings. Next week we will be using watercolour paints/pencils to add colour to our final pictures.

You can find photos of the visit in the Y1 gallery.

We will also be learning about fractions, position and direction in maths.

Please remember that it is KS1 sports day on Tuesday PM (28th June). Children are to come into school wearing their sports kit.

Have a lovely weekend.
