The Tunnel

Year 2 began their SATs tests this week and we would like to say how proud we are of all the children taking part. They showed an extremely sensible and mature attitude and did their absolute best.
Our SATs will continue next week so we ask parents to please make sure children are in school on time, rested and well fed!
Next week is Northumberland Week in school which is a fantastic way for the children to celebrate the end of two weeks hard work. We hope you can all join us at the fair at 2:30pm on Friday.
Alongside our SATs tests we have been continuing our usual daily learning.
We have been reading the story of The Tunnel, another story by Anthony Browne. The children have been making predictions and using their inference skills to make judgments about the characters. They compared the two main characters and described their differences. They used their imaginations to create ideas for what might be at the end of the tunnel and wrote descriptions of the possible settings. Next week we hope to go on our own journey through a different kind of tunnel!
