We have got off to a very busy start already this half term. We have been following instructions to plant seeds linking our literacy with our science topic – plants. Children have been reading lots and completing Accelerated Reader tests on the books they have read which they are thoroughly enjoying doing.
Next week is a very busy week, we have parent’s evenings on Monday and Wednesday, if you haven’t already signed up if you could see one of the Year 3 staff to do so. World Book Day is Thursday, children are to come dressed as a book character, it doesn’t have to be an expensive costume, the homemade ones are just as good if not better so get creative! The day will be spent carrying out lots of reading activities including Year 3 reading with Year 1 children.
Keep an eye out for your child’s next topic project coming home, it will be about the Romans which they are currently studying in history.
Thursday 8th March is our Year group assembly, you will have received an invitation to come and watch your child perform a showcase of what we have learnt so far this year, followed by a visit to the classroom for your child to share some of their hard work with you.
We look forward to seeing you all over the next couple of weeks.
