Reading in Year 4

In Year 4, we love reading! Every week, we have the chance to read in a variety of different contexts that are helping us to improve. Take a look at all of the different ways we enjoy reading in school:

In our reading pairs, we listen to each read and offer our friends support and advice.

In our pairs, we are using Bloom's Taxonomy to ask our partners increasingly challenging questions.

Grandma Una comes in twice a week to give us focused one to one reading time.

Reading Dolphins (14)

Grandma Una and Mrs Hall come in twice a week to give us focused one to one reading time.

As well as this, we also have silent reading where we can really lose ourselves in a book of our choice. In guided reading, Mr Gregory and Mrs Trueman spend time with each group developing reading skills.

Our team leaders will continue to check that children are bringing in their planners and are reading with an adult at home regularly.
