On Wednesday, We went on a fantastic trip to Bolam Lake in the heart of Northumberland. Throughout the day, we took part in a wide variety of activities and we learned a great deal about different animals, their habitats and about the lake in general.
The activities included:
- Lake Dipping where we used nets to catch many different creatures who live in the lake. We found pondskaters, water boatmen, water scorpions and so much more.
- Mini-Beast Safari: Where we able to look through a wide open area at the lake to find as many different mini-beasts and creatures as we could. Robbie made the find of the day when he was able to find a small frog which he released back into a safe area.
- The Perfect View: We used graphite sticks to sketch our perfect view of the lake from the distance, midpoint and foreground. We used pastels to then add colour to our art work.
In the afternoon, we built dens using natural materials and went on a nature walk to learn about different kinds of trees.
