On Tuesday, the children had the opportunity to take part in a range of fund raising activities, which were all related to Easter. Thanks to the support of parents and carers and the hard work of all staff and Friends of Newsham, we managed to raise £1106.50 and we will be talking to our Junior Leadership Team (JLT) and other pupil voice groups to agree the best use for this money. Well done everyone.
On Wednesday, the school community joined together for a Collective Act of Worship that explored religious signs and symbols connected to the Easter Story. The children were able to understand more about religious belief and the way in which this relates to the Christian faith. Our children know that as they grow up, they will need to make their own minds up about their personal belief system but it is important that we provide them with information from major religions and faiths to help them make informed choices. The Easter Assembly was a lovely event and we are very grateful to pupils from Y3 for helping to share their learning with the rest of our school community.
