Family Learning

Dear Parent/Carer,

Are you lacking in confidence in English or maths? Did you hate these subjects at school yourself? Are you scared to help your child with their homework? Has everything changed since you were at school? Are you frightened to apply for a job and does completing the application form put you off?

Maybe we can help…

Starting in the summer term, we are going to be running some ‘Family Learning’ classes. These will give parents and carers the opportunity to find out how things are taught at Newsham, as well as a chance to share ideas with other parents and develop their own English and maths skills. Family Learning classes are relaxed sessions, aimed at helping parents become better equipped with the skills and knowledge required to help them and their children.

At this stage we are hoping these sessions on either a Monday or Wednesday afternoon from 2pm – 3.10pm, in school; parents and carers will be able to collect their children at the end of the session. Every parent who signs up and attends the course will receive a certificate and free learning resource pack.

In order for us to organise these sessions we need to find out the level of interest from parents and carers. If you are interested in finding out more about this please complete the form attached below or speak to Mr Jones, Mrs Elton or Mrs Atkinson, who are on the school yard each day and would love to help.
