As parents and carers are aware, we have introduced a system that allows children to wear their PE kit to school on the days when their class are having PE lessons. We have been very clear in our explanation that children have to wear plain T shirts, sweatshirts and tracksuit bottoms, which are the same colour as our school uniform. Despite regular reminders, too many children are wearing branded PE clothes or ones emblazoned with logos or patterns. Some items of clothing being worn are in colours that have absolutely no connection to our school uniform.
In order to help the children and resolve this problem without having to change the system, we have purchased a range of PE clothing in plain colours that we will lend to children if required. A child will be able to borrow an item of PE kit for the day and change back into their own PE clothes before home time. We will wash the school kits and children will not need to take them home. Obviously, we’d rather avoid all these additional supportive arrangements and would be very grateful if children could come to school in appropriate PE clothing. Finally, parents and carers may be interested to know that the PE kits we purchased were all from a well-known supermarket at a very low cost and look very smart.
