I hope everyone enjoyed a great half term! The children are settled back happily in school and are working hard. Our pupils in Y6 are undertaking Mock SATs this week and they have really impressed me with their mature and sensible approach to these assessments. Alongside our tests, this is a very hardworking half term for all staff and pupils throughout school and until we get to our Easter celebrations, there is little to affect the normal school timetable or the focus on our usual curriculum coverage. To help the children achieve their maximum potential, we really need to improve our attendance percentages. Currently, our attendance data would lead Ofsted to make a judgement of “Requires Improvement” for our school and whilst as Headteacher, I refuse to be driven by Ofsted’s agenda, I do recognise that in order for children to make the best possible progress, they need to be in school. Please feel free to come and talk to us if attendance is an issue for your child or if there’s anything we can do to help. Thank-you for your support.
