This week, in Y2, we have been celebrating some PE superstars. Half of Y2 visited the multi-skills festival at Blyth Sports Centre where they had the opportunity to use their agility and co-ordination, whilst making new friends.
In preparation for our Victorian Market (on Wednesday 19th October), we have used Microsoft Publisher to create posters. We learnt how to insert text and change the font and size. Next, we will learn how to use key word searches to find images, which we will insert into our posters.
In maths with Mr Smith and Mrs Kearney, the children have been continuing to count in 2s, 3s, 5s and 10s in lots of different ways. We have also been learning to read and write numbers up to 1000 in both words and numerals. Children could practise spelling these number words at home to support their learning further.
In maths with Miss Masterson and Mrs Bolton, the children have been adding numbers onto a number line. We have also been using our knowledge of tens and units to solve number problems. In preparation for next week the children could practise their 2, 5 and 10 times tables.
Next week, In English, we will be re-telling the story of The Velveteen Rabbit. Over the weekend it would be great if you could ask your child to orally re-tell the story.
