Some Y5 children visited the Life Science Centre in Newcastle on Friday. As we walked through Newcastle, we compared the enormity of Grey’s Monument with ourselves!
They had a fantastic time exploring all areas of the Museum with some of the highlights being to read the weather, test a space toilet, drink from the toilet and discover what a pay phone was…that made the staff feel old!!
As Astronaut Atkinson headed off to space Mrs Potter held fire in her hand…both of these made the group giggle!
Other highlights of the day included visiting the planetarium and being offered the opportunity to be scientists and carry out real experiments in the lab, as detectives using invisible ink!
All of the children were brilliant and their behaviour was exemplary. The Newsham Way was demonstrated all day and they were an absolute pleasure to spend the day with.
