In a recent Year 6 art lesson with Mrs Jones, she encouraged the children to present something that really impacted upon them. One pupil drew a picture representing Dementia, as they have a family member who is affected by the condition.
Proud teacher Miss Graham posted a copy of the picture on X (Twitter), and it has gone viral. Last time I checked it had well over 100,000 views. The replies to the post are even more astonishing, including one from the Alzheimer Society. Others are calling for the image to be made into a poster or stamp.
Alzheimers and Dementia are conditions that affect family members of many of our school community; staff and pupils. The art work heightens awareness and it has also spurred us on to become an Alzheimer friendly school.
