Year 1 had a workshop about self esteem. We all showed the Newsham Way while our visitor spoke to us about why it is important to be kind to ourselves and others. We all thought of ways we can be good friends to those in our school. We then talked about why we need to look after ourselves and recognise things we are good at- there is so much we are amazing at in year 1! The children wrote some words to describe themselves, like kind, caring, funny, and some things they are really good at. They drew a lovely self portrait showing this.
