Throughout the week, we have been celebrating reading in the lead-up to World Book Day. It has been wonderful to see such enthusiasm from the children, and we are very grateful to everyone who supported our recent book fair. The funds raised will allow us to purchase additional books for the school, helping to further develop our library and classroom reading resources.
On Friday, our World Book Day dress-up day was embraced in exactly the right spirit. It was lovely to see such a wide range of characters and costumes, reminding us all that there truly is a book out there to capture every child’s interest and imagination.
One of the highlights of the week took place on Friday afternoon, when we held one of our favourite events. Children from each class visited a different classroom to read with new partners. It was a fantastic opportunity for pupils to share stories together, encourage one another, and simply enjoy reading. The atmosphere around the school was full of excitement, enthusiasm and a real love of books.
