The activities today were building cars, lighting fires and throwing axes! What could possibly go wrong! Nothing of course… the children were great. They were making fires with flints, but I have my doubts that they would be able to keep warm and cook if they were left deserted on an island. Furthermore, I know the wild animals would be quite safe if the children had to chase them for food with axes ![]()
At tea I was so proud that many of the children tried snails. I was really disappointed there wasn’t one for me but mine was too quick and got away.
Later, we had a camp fire with songs and the hotel shop opened to offload tat on a willing audience.
About 20 of the children are staying up late listening to the match. Strange that it’s happening just across the city. I must admit I’m having difficulty reminding the children that we have to treat even (mistaken) referees with respect… because that’s the Newsham Way. Joe Willock has just made my job easier though.
Tomorrow DIZZZZZNEEEEEEE
